Today I wanted to share with you all a scripture that has changed the way I perceive certain things in my life. The scripture is taken from, 2 Corinthians 4:18:
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
This has helped me in every area of my life. When things seem as though they are not working in my favor I will focus on the unseen. I believe the unseen is Jesus, although we cannot see him he is eternal. There is a song that plays on K-Love called “I Will Lift My Eyes” by Bebo Norman:
“I will lift my eyes to the Maker Of the mountains I can’t climb I will lift my eyes to the Calmer Of the oceans raging wild I will lift my eyes to the Healer Of the hurt I hold inside I will lift my eyes, lift my eyes to You”
I hold these words dear to my heart because it helps me to realize that we can not focus on the negative things that we are dealing with but we must place our focus on the one who created us.
I hope these words could be encouraging to you as well. Remember, when things seem as though they could not get any worse, lift your eyes and focus on the one who knew you before you were in your mother’s womb.
