Lately, I have been receiving a lot of unauthorized questions and I thought some of you might be receiving these types of questions as well. I graduated from college 8 months ago and the looming question that won’t go away is, Have you found a job yet?. The response, that I want to yell is, WHAT GIVES YOU THE AUTHORITY TO ASK ME THAT!!!
However, I was raised with manners, so I smile and say not yet. In this season of my life, I have found that many people are dealing with this issue of people asking unauthorized questions. I think we all need to keep in mind that although, these questions may seem harmless we don’t know the battles that one another may be going through. It is my wholehearted belief that unless you are invested in this persons life, you have no right to ask certain questions. I suggest you ask simple questions such as, how are you? are you happy? Allow that individual to tell you what is going on in their lives and provide them with words of encouragement.
This season of my life is quite unexplainable. I have learned so much about myself and I have drawn so much closer to God. This season has also taught me that we often define our selves based on the things that we are doing. When on a job interview the employer will most likely say, “tell me about yourself” and we often list the things that we have accomplished. This is not a healthy way of thinking. We shouldn’t define ourselves based on the things that we have done but we should define and measure ourselves based on how we treat others. At the end of the day people will most likely not remember you for what you’ve done but for how you made them feel.
Well loves, that’s it for today’s blog post! Please feel free to comment some unauthorized questions you have been receiving lately. Thanks so much for reading and I’ll see you in the next blog post.
